The Prodigal Lover III
As always she looked ravishing, like a tree in blossom
Her eyes still had those charms
Same ones that had brought me to her arms
I could almost feel it again,
The comfort whenever I melted into her bosom
A fool!
A fool is what I was I could not see the pain
Behind the gleaming smiles was all the hurt I’d caused
Cursed is me then for bring’n woe on such precious being
A handsome penance I shall pay for my infidelity
And pay it I must for my heart to beat once more
Let the price be my last breath,
I shall take it gladly with not a second’s thought
Then I know that my sacrifice has birth
An anecdote for the sore I left before
A fairytale ending – yes, that’d be it
Even I still believe in that
A future where both of us can live in happiness
Looking at her now grants me hope
Yet something somehow seemed quite different…
